Community Partnerships

PIUI’s unyielding commitment to the community was not only found in its service and product reliability but also in its efforts to demonstrate good citizenry and corporate social responsibility. Over the last 50 years, PIUI has partnered with countless non-profits whose goals address the social, educational, economical, and environmental wellbeing of our community. Non-profits play an integral role in society but their survival depends heavily on the support of others.

Some of the company’s list of goodwill beneficiaries include the Commonwealth Cancer Association, Joeten Daidai Foundation, Mariana Islands Nature Alliance (MINA), Northern Marianas Sports Association, American Red Cross, Rotary Club of Saipan, Northern Marianas College Foundation, Saipan Fisherman Association, Joeten Kiyu Public Library, Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, Saipan Chamber of Commerce, Tan Siu Lin Foundation, Japanese Society of the Northern Marianas, Korean Association of Saipan, Saipan Lions Club, Emon Masonic Lodge, Marianas Outrigger Club, Napu Pacific Paddlers, Stellar Marianas, Marine Corps Reserve Toys-for-Tots, CNMI Women’s Association, CNMI Disability Sports Council, to name a few. In celebration of the company’s 10th Annual Pacifica Art Contest this year, it introduced The PAC Gallery, an online art exhibition with URL www.pacificains.com that now archives a great number of artworks stemming back to 2014. PAC was designed to support and nurture local talent and the arts in the CNMI. The PAC Gallery will be its premier digital archive and an exhibition of talent in the Marianas.

“We hope PAC will remain the most sought-after art contest in the CNMI. Over the course of 10 years, we have accumulated an overwhelmingly large volume of art that we can all be proud of. PAC is a great program to incentivize and encourage friendly competition, spontaneity, and self- expression through art,” said President & CEO Shirley Sablan.

In addition to celebrating PIUI’s 10th year of local art under PAC, the company invested further in its 5-year-old Pacifica GoGreen program that aims on building environmental stewardship and supporting green sustainability programs. And in this light, together with Hawaii-based company Evlution Energy, the partnership launched the CNMI’s first commercial electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Joeten Center in Susupe. To amplify its commitment to the environment, PIUI has committed to a year of free EV charging, which will run till end of August 2024.
